JUNE 2010 COASTAL HAITI MISSION NEWSLETTER

New Church in Haiti

CHM’S REPRESENTATIVE, LYVINX “COTY” JOSEPH, has founded a new church in the Cahesse area.  The house they worship in now cannot hold any more people.  They need a new building for the “Church” to meet in.  A church name will be chosen soon.

Coty has found a piece of land for the new building.  The cost is $2,700 U.S. money for the land.  Next he wants to begin the quest for the building material expenses.

Other needs for this new church are: Speakers, microphones, keyboard, guitar, base guitar, amplifier, mixer, and percussion.

Besides a morning and evening service on Sunday, this fellowship meets every night during the week, with one night set aside for evangelism.  On that night they sing while traveling the Cahesse Road, and then visit house to house to pray for individuals.

If you feel a nudge from the Holy Spirit to help this new church in any way please contact: CHM, c/o Clint Goddard, 268 Reef Run Road, Pawleys Island, SC 29585

Weigh Anchor

BRIEF SYNOPSIS OF NEW BOOK, WEIGH ANCHOR – Leaving The Past Behind Weigh Anchor is the sequel to Clint Goddard’s first novel, The Provision, published by Baker Trittin Press in 2005.

In The Provision, (now on sale for only $7.00), Dirk Butterworth deserts his wife and grown children, and fakes his own death in Haiti before settling in Providenciales, located in the Turks and Caicos Islands.  While there, he meets a beautiful Caribbean woman with whom he falls in love and commits adultery.  Soon after, Dirk is converted to faith in Jesus Christ and is appalled at his own selfishness and behavior in the past.  Eventually, after a series of events ending in loss and tragedy, Dirk returns home to his wife, Kitty, on the grounds that she has forgiven him.

But Kitty did not know that forgiveness is more than words and is hard to come by.  In Weigh Anchor Kitty learns that true forgiveness is often complicated and multi-layered, especially when dealing with infidelity.  The way is hard and the wound runs deep.

Through months of up-and-down emotional struggles she wonders if the cost of forgiveness is way too high.  She ponders the loss of self esteem, the blow to her pride, and the right to “even the score.”  But Kitty also becomes aware of another fact – the terrible cost of unforgiveness.  The truth found in the Gospels point the way – but will she listen to it?

Weigh Anchor, now in the process of being published by BT Concepts, is scheduled to be available near the end of this summer or early fall.
