– THUNDER IN THE DISTANCE –
Anyone who can think knows there is something dreadfully wrong in our world.
Lately, I have heard one person after another asking the question: “What is going
on in our world? What is happening?
At the risk of being called an alarmist, please allow me to share a few things with
you. We already know, according to Scripture, that there are malevolent spirits
located on high that are interacting and influencing our world community-at-large.
The Apostle Paul describes these spirit beings in a letter written to the newly-
-formed church at Ephesus.
“For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood – contending
only with physical opponents – but against the despotisms,
against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the
wicked rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces
of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.” (Eph.6:12 TAB)
The Apostle John was in concurrence with Paul when writing to the beloved
lady Cyria and her children:
“We know [positively] that we are of God, and the whole world
is under the power of the evil one.” (II John 5:19 TAB)
This is “truth” we are dealing with here. I know the idea of our world being
infested with detrimental spirits is both foreign and troublesome to our western
intelligence and mind set. We are comfortable with our comedic, mischievous and
buffoon-like devil dressed in a red suit with a long tail.
But we must see reality as it is set forth in Scripture. There is a war going on
between good and evil. The devil is a real entity, and his agents are hard at work
in this world. The anti-Christ spirit is on the rise. Truth is being denied, biological
science is ignored, false realities are being manufactured and espoused, and
common sense is being set aside. When artificial intelligence (AI) is fully
developed and operational, we may not be able to distinguish between what is real
and what is an illusion (artificial).
For so many reasons it is of dire importance that we, as Christians, have our
reality rooted in the Word of God.
The last days were here on the Day of Pentecost when the Spirit of God fell on
those in the Upper Room bringing to life the Church of Jesus Christ. Peter, in
explaining what was happening that day, quoted the Prophet Joel:
“And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that
I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh…” (Acts 2:17 ESV)
That was over 2,000 years ago, and that time was referred to by Peter as “the last
days”. I personally believe that we are now in the last-of-the-last days.
Listen a moment to Paul:
“But understand this, in the last days there will set in perilous
times of great stress and trouble – hard to deal with and hard
to bear. For people will be lovers of self and [utterly] self-
-centered, lovers of money and aroused by an inordinate
(greedy) desire for wealth, proud and arrogant and contempt-
-uous boasters. They will be abusive (blasphemous, scoffers),
disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane. [They
will be] without natural (human) affection (callous and in-
-human), relentless – admitting of no truce or appeasement.
[They will be] slanderers – false accusers, trouble makers;
intemperate and loose morals and conduct, uncontrolled and
fierce, haters of good. [They will be] treacherous (betrayers),
rash [and] inflated with self-conceit. [They will be] lovers of
sensual pleasures and vain amusements more than and rather
than lovers of God.” (II Tim. 3:1-4 TAB)
Sound familiar? In our day many are afraid to leave their homes for fear of being
shot for absolutely no legitimate reason. There has been a marked increase of
automobile owners having their vehicles bullet-proofed. Airline pilots are having
to go off schedule and initiate emergency landings because of passenger-caused
chaos aboard their aircraft. Malicious gangs are entering stores and stealing
thousands of dollars worth of merchandise while terrorizing paying customers.
Major and minor retail stores are closing their doors and leaving large cities
across the United States. Children are afraid to attend school because of school
shootings, and suicide among young people is taking its toll. Divorce is rampant
and the family structure is collapsing. Rising seas (global warming), rising costs,
dangerous drug cartels, and a world-shaking pandemic all add to episodes of severe stress.
But life continues on, eating and drinking and marrying – well, you know,
like in the days of Noah — business as usual.
I realize that what I have written may be upsetting and frightening to some.
But if you are a Christ follower you need not fear. You belong to God, and
“greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world” (I John 4:4 ASV).
You are in the ark, so-to-speak, and you are a light in the darkness.
And dear friend, if you have not ever asked Jesus Christ to forgive you for your
sins (for all have sinned – missed the mark), and invited Him to come into your
heart, there is still time for you to make that life- and eternity-changing decision.
There is still room in the ark! (But I hear thunder in the distance, so I’d make it a
priority).
————————————————————————————————-
My intent in writing this message is to strengthen you, my brothers and sisters in
Christ, for the days ahead. To encourage you to listen to your own sense of dis-
-cernment regarding this day in which we live. To understand that it is man’s
doing (without God) that has brought our world to this place. To know that God,
by enduing us with free will, has allowed us to see the tragic outcome of our
casting aside His rule and Kingship over our lives.
We also know that our Lord wants every man, woman, and child to repent and be
saved. Jesus paid the price for that to happen as individuals surrender their lives
to Him. (II Pet.3:9)
In the end, all will be well. The Word says so. Meanwhile, be a lighthouse in the
storm. Hold your family and friends close, love your neighbor, and love our God
with all of your heart.
Walking this Way with you,
Connie
The School Lunch Program
Pastor Coty Writes:
Our kids eat with joy, what we receive with joy from you, God’s people.
The rice and beans are more popular than any book at the school and the
lunch time is more desired than any class at our school.
We thank God, and also thank you, His people, who make every school day a
lunch day for everyone at the school.
Pastor Coty
Those girls are smiling at you.
She brings her 3 children to school every morning and comes back to get them
after class. That’s her job. She knows that every school day is a lunch day.
If she leaves them home for the day, they may not eat anything for that day.
The little ones are twins, and they are not old enough to attend school, but she
asked us please to accept them because she could not provide for them.
She said, grown people can resist hunger, but kids are different. They need to
get something to eat.

The Home Lighting Project
Pastor Coty Writes:
We have begun to distribute the recent shipment of Cyclops lights and Power
Banks that you provided during Christmas season.
The first class of training was very fruitful. We had some women attend who
had a desperate need for a light in their home.
They were very receptive on how to keep the light safe and use it wisely.
Everyone was happy, and receiving a light after the class, increased their
happiness.
Now, they are no longer a slave to darkness, but instead, they live in real light
at night.
Thanks to our Lord, and to You His people.

Pastor Coty teaching the lighting class.
This is the house of one of the families who received a Cyclops light.
In this house, even with the lowest light intensity that the light will provide, you
can see really well. The room is bright enough to even study in. The next two
increased levels of light intensity in this light, really light up the room. The trade
off, the brighter the illumination, the shorter the duration of the light, before
recharging is required.
The beneficiary could not find words to explain to me how important this light is
to them.
This is the mounting plate in the ceiling to
magnetically attach the light.
The photos you see here do not capture the actual brightness of these rooms.
The rooms are much brighter than these photos show.
The Saturday Sunday School
Pastor Coty Writes:
The best thing in this class is not the subject that my wife Nana is teaching,
but it’s mostly the joy in the faces of the kids.
Joy to come, joy to participate, and joy to receive, whatever they can get for the day.
Even if it’s not movie time, we gave out some popcorn, and candy.
Thank God for his blessings on these kids because they are the future of this country.
Pastor Coty
Fun times at Saturday Sunday School.
Proverbs 14: 31
Whoever oppresses the poor shows contempt for their Maker, but whoever
is kind to the needy honors God.
A prayer for you from the scripture:
Psalms 67: 1
May God be gracious to you and bless you
and make His face to shine upon you
